How do I get to the BLACK TAPESTRY TATTOO studio?
The studio has great London public transport links. Deptford train station and Greenwich train station are both 0.3. miles (10 minute walk) away.
CAN I PARK NEAR YOUR LONDON TATOO STUDIO?
There is free on-street parking directly outside of the building that Black Tapestry Tattoo resides within but spaces are limited and we can’t guarantee that there will be one available if you drive. There are a variety of car parking spots nearby on www.justpark.com.
IS THE BLACK TAPESTRY TATTOO STUDIO SPACE ACCESSIBLE?
Yes – we are on the first floor but there is a lift.
HOW DO I BOOK A CONSULTATION WITH A BLACK TAPESTRY TATTOO ARTIST?
Booking a consultation is easy! Head over to our booking page and fill out a form. We will forward your request to your chosen artist or if you haven't specified an artist, we will pair you with the most suitable for your tattoo and they will get back to you to arrange a consultation. Consultations can be done via email, Skype, or in person depending on the complexity of the tattoo idea.
ARE TATTOO CONSULTATION FREE?
Tattoo consultations are completely free of charge.
HOW DO I BOOK A TATTOO APPOINTMENT WITH BLACK TAPESTRY TATTOO?
Once you and your artist have agreed on a design, you will then arrange a time and date for the tattoo to be done and you will have to pay a deposit to secure the booking.
How much is a TATTOO DEPOSIT AT BLACK TAPESTRY TATTOO LONDON?
Deposits vary from artist to artist but its usually around 25% of the total price of the tattoo.
HOW DO I PAY A DEPOSIT FOR MY TATTOO?
We accept cash, Paypal or bank transfers. This also applies to paying the balance of your tattoo.
How much does a tattoo cost AT BLACK TAPESTRY TATTOO LONDON?
The final price of the tattoo will be discussed between you and your artist. Each artist may charge slightly differently; some charge by the hour whereas others charge by the piece.
What is your shop minimum?
At our London tattoo studio, we have a shop minimum of £80 which includes setup and design costs.
Most artists will request or take a photograph of the area you intend to get tattooed. They will ask you to supply them with some reference images of other artwork or tattoos that can be used for inspiration towards your bespoke design. Your artist will then get to work on your design closer to your appointment time.
HOW DOES THE TATTOO DESIGN PROCESS WORK AT BLACK TAPESTRY TATTOO LONDON?
Can I see the design before my appointment date?
Some artists do send out designs before the appointment; large-scale work such as sleeves or back pieces often get emailed across before the session to ensure there is enough time to make any changes if necessary. Some artists show you the design on the day of your appointment – this is something your tattoo artist will discuss with you..
Can I change my tattoo idea/design?
You may change your mind, as long as you give our artists enough time before the appointment to change/redraw the design.
At our London tattoo studio, we have a stringent 48-hour cancellation policy in place. If you find it necessary to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please ensure prompt communication with us or your designated artist. Failing to do so within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.

Can I reschedule my appointment?
At our London tattoo studio, you have the flexibility to reschedule your appointment once while retaining your deposit. However, in the event of a second rescheduling, your deposit will be forfeited, and you will be required to pay a new deposit.
Our artists will not copy other artists' work. At Black Tapestry Tattoo Studio London, our artists are dedicated to crafting one-of-a-kind tattoos. While we can use internet images as references, we won't duplicate them line for line. Expect a bespoke tattoo inspired by your reference image.
Do you copy other tattoos?
Will the tattoo hurt?
Unfortunately, most tattoos do come with some degree of pain. This can vary for a number of reasons such as the location of the tattoo, the style of tattoo being done, the duration of the tattoo, how well you have prepared for the tattoo, how comfortable you are, etc. We have a television in the studio to help distract clients, which we have found helps especially during longer sessions.
Can I use numbing cream?
As a general rule at Black Tapestry Tattoo Studio London, you can use numbing cream if you wish, but we recommend discussing it with your tattoo artist first, as preferences may vary. If you plan to use numbing cream for your session, we strongly advise conducting a patch test 48 hours in advance to ensure your skin has no adverse reactions to the cream.
What numbing cream would you recommend?
At Black Tapestry Tattoo Studio London, most of our clients prefer TKTX, but numerous brands online offer similar numbing options. We advise conducting a patch test with each tube of numbing cream before applying it in preparation for your tattoo session. Your safety and comfort are our priorities.
What is the best way to prepare for my tattoo session?
Before your appointment at Black Tapestry Tattoo Studio London, remember to stay hydrated and maintain a healthy diet. Ensure a good night's sleep the day before your tattoo and refrain from drugs or alcohol for the best tattoo experience.
What should I bring with me on the day OF MY TATTOO?
At Black Tapestry Tattoo Studio London, feel free to bring drinks and snacks to your appointment. Sugary drinks and snacks can help maintain your blood sugar levels during the session. While we provide comfortable beds and cushions, some clients prefer to bring their pillows for added comfort.

At Black Tapestry London Tattoo Studio, we don't have private rooms, but we can set up screens for added privacy during your tattoo session. If you prefer additional coverage, we recommend bringing a small sheet or blanket with you.
Do you tattoo visible areas?
Yes, at Black Tapestry London Tattoo Studio, we are open to tattooing visible areas like hands or the neck. However, it's up to each artist's discretion when it comes to visible tattoos. If you don't have a substantial number of tattoos already, some artists may choose not to tattoo certain visible areas.

Do you tattoo over scars/skin conditions?

To ensure the best results, we recommend waiting for one week before resuming any gym activities and at least two weeks before swimming or bathing. This allows your tattoo to heal properly, reducing the risk of complications and preserving its quality.
What if my tattoo needs a touch-up?
At Black Tapestry London Tattoo Studio, we take pride in delivering exceptional tattoos that stand the test of time. If, for any reason, your tattoo hasn't healed perfectly and requires a touch-up, we've got you covered.
